Be Daniel In These Dark Days and Take Your Stand

A four-minute clip from Sunday, August 29, 2021. "All the trees of the field will know I am the LORD. I bring down the tall tree and exalt the low tree" (Ezekiel 17:24). The LORD humbles the proud and exalts the humble who bow their knees to His reign and not any earthly kingdom's reign.

Titus 3.1-2 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Wade,

Your Post states: “…These Dark Days…”

I agree these days are dark, but you don’t explain why they’re dark.

Could it be the Afghanistan war has stopped by Biden’s surrender to the Taliban while leaving Americans behind to be killed?

How can we be a Daniel and fight the enemy when the enemy is us?

good question, REX RAY, good question

One Salient Oversight,

Wise words to heed, indeed, when you are tempted to go on Christian sites and disparage Christian leaders.

Wade Burleson said...

Rex, the clip is only a short portion of an entire message where the context is explained. Daniel was given favor "in the King's court" and become a personal servant to King Nebuchadnezzar. He served for nearly seven decades, but in the beginning, his buddies - Shadrach, Mesach, and Abedgnego - were thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship false gods. Later, Daniel was thrown into the Lion's Den for refusing to do the same thing.

Our generation sees government (cash) as the Savior, government science (CDC) as the Redeemer, and government leaders as KING (the President).

Nope.

Bow your knee to Jesus the Anointed One alone and be willing to be put to death when you refuse to give allegiance to any government authority.

Australia is locking down again. Is Tasmania. Will you close the doors of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Launceston if the courts demand it? I only ask because I believe it is a relevant question.

We can't hide behind "obedience to government officials" anymore.

The government officials told Daniel not "to pray." They told his three Hebrew friends to "stop worshiping YHWH" and bow to a statue of the king.

Will you do that? Will you obey the government and deny the LORD?

Again, just asking. I am not suggesting you will, but I find that people who hide behind aliases and don't like people to know who they are typically will hide when challenged.

I do hope things are going well in Tasmania.

P.S. You wrote this on The Wartburg Watch:

"And if anyone wants a break from Wade, feel free to watch and listen to one of my own sermons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7eo3Fn60lk"

I would encourage you when you comment on my site to use your real name. In addition, if you wish for people to "have a break from Wade" then I suggest you (yourself) stop reading what I write.

Neil Cameron (One Salient Oversight) said...

There is no Covid currently here in Tasmania. Our state and our nation has been blessed with very few covid cases because our governments have been more proactive in stamping them out.

If Covid does break out again, our church will again shut down according to government meeting guidelines. We did that last year for a few months, and provided our people with online worship resources, including sermons.

The 17th century Puritan Richard Baxter gave a very good account of why a temporary shut down of church gatherings was justified during a plague:

http://www.joelbeeke.org/2020/03/wise-and-interesting-advice-from-richard-baxter/

Baxter does go on to discuss unreasonable demands by the magistrate, such as anti-Christian persecution, which naturally results in the church obeying God rather than men. And I agree with that.

As for my "One Salient Oversight". I have used the name for nearly 20 years on the internet and have used no other. If anyone googles "One Salient Oversight" they'll get my blog and my real name. I'm also on Reddit here: https://old.reddit.com/user/OneSalientOversight/ My online footprint is very easily found because I chose to do that way. Everything I say on the internet can be read, which ensures that anyone can search me up. I encourage it. At present I comment as "Neil Cameron (One Salient Oversight)" at Julie Roys. I won't use my real name when I comment here because it would be annoying to get another google account to do so.

Why do I continue to read what you write? Probably because at one time I respected you - especially your work in exposing abuse within churches. Even now you can occasionally say wise words. But certainly since your advocating of pseudoscience last year prior to Covid forced me to first warn you of your error, and then to contact your church to warn them of what you were saying. Since then you have fallen so far down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and pseudoscience that you're influencing your people in a similar way to Nazi germany in the 1930s. You might think you're Bonhoeffer, but you're not. As a result I am now convinced that you have disqualified yourself as an elder in the church, as per 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1 and 1 Peter 5. You are quarrelsome, not sober minded, not well thought of by outsiders, arrogant, not holding firmly to the trustworthy word by denying Romans 13 and Titus 3.1-2 by teaching rebellion against the government that God has placed over you. (Remember that your current situation is nowhere near as bad as it was in the 1st century when Paul wrote Romans 13 and Titus 3). Therefore I ask you as a brother in the Lord to stand down from your preaching and teaching ministry and instead lead "a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way" (1 Timothy 2).There is no Covid currently in Tasmania.

If Covid does break out again, our church will again shut down according to government meeting guidelines.

Neil Cameron (One Salient Oversight),

I am the same man I was 20 years ago.

I am unafraid to expose abuse, be it spiritual, emotional, or physical.

Government abuse is just as real as personal abuse, and just like those who wished me to be silent 15 years ago only realized that I am never intimidated by threats, so too today, the words and accusations of complete strangers - especially the professionally religious - only embolden me.

I've been down this road before. In 2007, many professionally religious people wished me to be silent in exposing predatorial sexual abuse, and they called me all kinds of names to try to tarnish my reputation. It didn't work. In 2021, a few professionally religious "woke" people wish me to be silent in exposing government abuse in the form of the removal of individual liberties (freedom) in communities, businesses, and people groups. It won't work.

Thanks for your comment.

“Our generation sees government (cash) as the Savior, government science (CDC) as the Redeemer, and government leaders as KING (the President).”

This is not ‘Dark Days; it’s more of a warning. In fact, a lot of people are happy about getting money that our children and grandchildren will have to pay.

“Dark Days” is our border unprotected, stealing and murder is rampant, defund the police, criminals put in jail and out the next day, cost of living has more than doubled. The news shows that America has lost its image as a ‘super power’ by what Biden has done; China is laughing.

CHRISTIANE, can you add anything else?

Neil Cameron (One Salient Oversight) said...

Genuine question, made in good faith:

What specifically is the government doing that is forcing you to encourage believers to disobey them?

Mask mandates and vaccination requirements are obviously not addressed in Scripture. What violations of scriptural principles would the government be guilty of if they did enforce these things?

Note that an egalitarian democratic society is not one that the Bible explicitly teaches (for or against). Paul taught obedience to a tyrannical government in Romans 12 and Titus 3.

Wade Burleson said...

1. A lawless national border, allowing illegal immigrants into the country without Covid-19 screening, letting them loose without expectation of return to court within two years. 2. "Safe-zones" in metro areas where meth and heroine "clean needles" are passed out by government programs, creating miles of poverty and hundreds of homeless people who are zombie-like in cities. 3. Flying the LGBQT flag over United States embassies, an act that any historian will tell you is a sign of a foreign nation conquering a nation. 4. Closing down churches and arresting pastors (California/Canada/Australia) who violate government orders. 5. Handing out TRILLIONS of dollars in cash from the government, even though the government is bankrupt and national debt is now a mind-boggling 210 TRILLION (including unfunded liabilities). 6. Teaching children to "cancel" with American Founding Fathers and Christian values through Critical Theory and Critical Race Theory. 7. Organized Communist non-profits - with grants from the government - to "flip" states like North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and others.8. Evacuating 100,000 Afghani residents without vetting them and LEAVING hundreds of Americans under Taliban rule with no way of escape (including 24 schoolchildren from California). 9. Demanding vaccine passports and mandated vaccinations in order to continue employment, 10. Violating the Consitution and giving the CDC the ability to "do away with rent" (at the top of the Communist Manifesto) because "private property" and "capitalism" are the Evil Empire that must fall. THIS IS OUR GOVERNMENT.

I appreciate your comment. I could have listed 10,000 more things that cause me to never bow my knee to the government doing these things, but I'll leave it at 10.

I'm not sure why Tasmanians are so concerned about a United States citizen, but obviously, you need an American civics class. WE UNITED STATES CITIZENS ARE GOVERNMENT. "We the People" (U.S. Constitution). We will NOT ALLOW this government to be overrun by evil dictators whether Socialist Fascists or Right-Wing Fascists.

And the people complaining the loudest about us doing something are "woke" Christians from other countries who don't understand the unique nature of the United States.

Thanks for your comment.

Peter said it like this, "We are aliens and strangers in this world." Even if our government was righteous, even if our cities were Godly, this is not our home. The book of Amos challenges God-followers to not just submit to rituals that make them present in the place of worship. No, the challenge is to battle the injustice we see in this world. When government programs create captives, the church is to battle to release them. When the government seeks to oppress by undermining the work ethic of a generation, the church has to declare the road to freedom. When the government fails to provide geographical security, the church must point to the tower of refuge.

You and I do not always agree with what the other writes. Submitting to the government does not mean that we have to blindly follow their edicts when those edicts go against what God has decreed is righteous. However, when the “government” calls out our non compliance with their edicts and imposes penalties on us for responding, as God would have us act, then we must submit to their imposed penalties and continue to bow our knees to our God, knowing full well that the imposed penalties may be very hard to endure and sometimes cause our demise.

What I have posted previously with respect to the USA and Australia, is that God is fulfilling His prophetic word concerning our “government’s” actions of trying to heal Babylon, which the “church,” at that time, gave silent approval to, and are just as guilty of this sin as the respective “governments” of our respective nations. Australia is just a little behind the USA in being filled with people who act like locusts that are/will consuming/consume our respective nations.

We are coming to the 20th anniversary of the events that unfolded on 9/11/01, (which incidentally was for all of the earth to see), and yet few people can see the biblical and prophetic significance of that day and the beginning of the gathering of the nations of the world to the valley of decision, where they will be judged by God. Paul wrote of this time in Romans 11 where he stated that after the fulness of the allocated time for the gentiles is completed, all of Israel will be saved and that the Isaiah 24’s prophecy will be fulfilled when the kings of the earth are gathered and judged and imprisoned, with the judged heavenly hosts, for many days in a pit, awaiting the time of their respective punishment.

Also in Isaiah God tells us what is his acceptable fasting and prayers, are, and that when the Sabbath Day begins, we, His Saints, are to keep that Sabbath Day/Age “Holy.” I doubt that few if any of God’s “Saints” give any heed to this chapter

The Tasmanian State Government in Australia has a natural, wide, barrier that effectively makes any border crossing more difficult with respect to any other State government in Australia where the border is often defined by a barbwire or mesh fence to keep the undesirable critters out.

The time has come for the Saints to nail their colours to the mast of the vessel that they are sailing, blown by the winds of the Spirit, so that others may know what they stand for, as the end of this present age is rapidly drawing to a close and the Millennium Age of great harvest is to begin.

Shalom

How can you tell them if you don’t watch REAL NEWS?

I’ll add another person that tells the truth: Hannity.

Tonight, he told of Americans who’d made it through Taliban check points. Even though they were waving passports, they were not allowed to go through the gate to board partially empty airplanes that were leaving. The people that didn’t let them through were working for the State Department controlled by Biden.

Retired military leaders are demanding resignations of Miley, Austin, Sullivan, and Blinky who is the Secretary of State.

REX RAY, you asked if I had 'something to add', and I thought for a long time about it.

I think it takes a great deal of humility to AVOID jumping to conclusions for which there is no proof, especially when those conclusions are 'comforting' and 'reassuring'.
I think folks have gone about as far as they can go down that path and have begun to encounter some of the 'real' results of jumping to conclusions and to relying on sources of information that told them 'what they wanted to hear' (or as the sacred Scriptures put it, 'tickled their ears).

We do know in our faith that we have 'choices' because we are made in the image of God. Because of this, EVERY human person has inherent dignity and worth. It is always wise to take a moment and evaluate where we are at on 'the journey' and what are the 'consequences' of our decisions and our actions up until this point.

May I suggest that prayer at a time like this is no longer 'something we don't have time for';
but it may be a greater need than we realize. Especially for those of us who think we 'know all the answers'.
There is benefit in taking time out for seeking direction 'on the journey', in hopes that we are in service to the 'better angels of our nature' and not to the dark forces that can only effectively control us in the absence of our humility before the Lord.

"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." — Jeremiah 6:16

Stand.

Look.

Ask.

Walk.

Rest.

Mr. Cameron,

I’m deeply saddened by your uncharitable demeanor, and what appear as exaggerated and unjustified accusations of disqualifying behavior directed towards our brother Wade, that inexplicably emboldened you to opt for ‘third party’ intervention. In the many years I’ve been blessed to read Wade’s articles, follow up comments and sermons, I’ve not once witnessed anything but a profound devotion to TRUTH, (to the individual) spoken appropriately and graciously, (towards abusively corrupt institutions) TRUTH …rightly, unvarnished.

I wouldn’t know where else but here, to direct a person …whom aspires to see consistently and publicly modeled, a tender heart with open ears, patiently listening without censorship, a gentle, unprovoked spirit that doesn't return wrath, for wrath inflicted.

I’ll be genuinely praying for the Lord to heal the wounds from which your bitterness flows, and that one day you will seek forgiveness and reconciliation with Wade.

Christiane,

Thanks for your concern. I deleted Mr. Cameron's comments (One Salient Oversight), and your comment. His last two comments were deleted, logged, and will be sent to the Tanzania authorities.

I have contacted him privately in the past. Mr. Oversight (Neil Cameron) is not a threat to anyone, in my opinion. He seems a little off emotionally, particularly with his sense of personal self-importance. The church members here in the United States who received emails from him - unsolicited - were very concerned. Those emails were forwarded to the Tanzania Police Department, and they have been very helpful. I've never met Neil, but for whatever reason, Neil feels the Kingdom is damaged by me. He has a right to feel that way, but when members receive emails from strangers, and during the same week, one member was embezzled by financial fraud over the Internet by an international stranger, our church Leadership Team wanted to ensure the embezzler was not Mr. Cameron. I am convinced he was not the person pretending to be me (via email), but his contact with members of Emmanuel via email really ticked many people off. The Tanzania Police were very nice, but they have asked us to keep a log of any comments by Mr. Cameron and forward them when appropriate. We are complying. Everyone have a great weekend.

Revelation 17: 4 "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great wonder/admiration."

Wade, what a powerful, pointed, prophetic, message from God! Truly inspired and empowered by God's Holy Spirit. Anyone who does not recognize that we are living in an age identical to that of Daniel where the global "Mother of harlots, Babylon" reigns on earth.

Seldom do I disagree with Rex Ray, but I do in the case where the global "darkness" of this world is mistakenly attributed to the influence and wickedness of this nation and its current regime. The United States is nothing but a singular pawn being played by the greater global control of that power of darkness identified as "Babylon" in the final days portrayed in Revelation.

The United States is no longer "the global leader" of anything. To attempt to attribute this world's darkness, decadence, and wickedness to one national entity, whether the United States, China, Russia, or the Taliban, is to under-assess that power which is in reality reigning in sovereign control globally as surely as did the "Babylon" of Daniel's age.

The confusion is that today's "Babylon" has not yet risen to the high profile level of being identified and exposed according to its "behind the scenes" power players. That is as Satan would have it. It is like fighting against a serpent with multiple heads that together amass immense, unchallenged, control of all the world's media, social infrastructure, scientific and government institutions.

THAT is the power structure of the world that defies born again followers of Jesus Christ to stand in opposition to its ideologies and globally implemented, mandated, decrees. Babylon commands, "Bow down, submit, or be denied the means of existence and be crushed." It's ruler has not yet surfaced as being the singular personality of a "Nebuchadnezzar", but its presence and unchallenged power is just as real.

We desperately need the power and proclamation of your message today, Wade. This is all in God's providence and timing and you are a key prophet who must never be intimidated or inhibited in your obedient, bold, announcement from God.

(Rex Ray, we may have a slightly different slant on things from time to time but our difference in opinion on ANY issue never trumps the love we have for each other as brothers in The Kingdom.)

Hurricane Ida did a lot of damage. One of the places mentioned is Grand Isle. It’s an island 100 miles south of New Orleans connected to the mainland by a long bridge.

I’ve gone there about ten times to do spear fishing at the many oil derricks not far from shore. On one trip we made the mistake of seeing the movie; Jaws. (A large man-eating shark.)

I made a shark proof cage held up by innertubes for our young kids. We tied our boat and cage to an oil derrick. By wearing facemask, they saw a lot of small fish.

Before we left, I showed the cage to a neighbor. They said, “I don’t see how you’re going to get a shark in there.”

Rex Ray said...

Our LTV tool design department took a boat ride at Grand Isle. I had a movie camera and took movies of the trip.

Part of it showed our supervisor getting sick and ‘feeding the fish’. A few days later they wanted to see the movie. During lunch break, the movie was shown in the restroom with the lights off.

There was a loud howl when I reversed the film of our supervisor feeding the fish. :)

CHRISTIANE,

Your link was a soothing sound to put you to sleep.

I talked to my sister, Ann a long time today. She was 100% her old self. We laughed about many old stories. She mentioned the ‘black sheep’ of our family, Frank.

Years ago, we were in Alaska. I was 27 and Frank was 25. Frank forged Dad’s name on so many checks, Dad called the police. After a while in jail, he was released and placed in my custody.

It wasn’t long before he stole $10 from my wife’s purse. I told him he had a choice of going back to jail or taking a lick of every dollar he stole. He chose the licks.

I told him to grab his ankles. I used a two-foot thin board. He said he wasn’t crying because he was hurting that it was just the dignity. Then he said, “Would you hit in a different spot?”

Today, Ann recalled Dad telling Frank years ago, “Frank, I’m not giving you any more money!”

“That’s OK, Uncle Dave; I’ll forgive you.”

Wade,

There’s no question that First, Second, and Third John were written by the same person, but what man wrote them?

“This letter is from John the elder” is written in the Second and Third John in the New Living Translation.

A footnote states that in the Greek it reads “This letter is from the elder”.

If that’s true, then “John” has been added by man.

I don’t know Greek. Can you check this out?

Rex Ray said...

Wade,

I guess no one knows why John was known as the disciple that Jesus loved. (Wouldn’t Jesus want him to die a ‘hero’?)

The Bible records the disciples except John died a martyr’s death. (Peter was hung upside down on a cross etc.)

The three Johns were written around 95 AD. That means the author would be very old.

The theologian Tertullian reported that John was plunged into boiling oil, but miraculously escaped unscathed.

Boiling oil is 3 times hotter than boiling water. A person would be dead in 2 seconds.

I believe the reason Christians didn’t believe John died in this oil is because John spoke of himself:

“So the rumor spread among the community of believers that this disciple wouldn’t die...” (John 20:23 NLT)
