"Sex Before 8 or It Is Too Late" - NAMBLA Motto

The North American Man/Boy Love Association is a loose collection of men and women around North America who wish to abolish age-of-consent laws that criminalize adult sexual involvement with minors. NAMBLA also campaigns to release men who have been jailed for sexual contact with minors that did not involve what NAMBLA considers coercion.

Looking to many ancient cultures that practiced pederasty, NAMBLA wishes to turn the United States into a culture that accepts child sex as normal, pleasurable, and beneficial for both child and adult.

Their motto is "Sex before 8 or it is too late."

The founders and leaders of NAMBLA, including David Thorstad, Allen Ginsberg, and others, were active participants in the establishment of Gay Pride Month (June), and NAMBLA has instituted June 20 as the day to celebrate pedophilia.

Does this shock you?

It shouldn't. A pedophile - that is, one attracted to having sex with children - looks like your next-door neighbor, your co-worker, your fellow citizen. In fact, Salon Magazine published a piece written by a United States citizen who identifies as a pedophile entitled "I'm A Pedophile, Not a Monster," a piece Salon Magazine has since taken offline
“My name is Todd Nickerson, and I’m a pedophile. Does that surprise you? Yeah, not many of us are willing to share our stories for good reason. To confess a sexual attraction to children is to lay claim to the most reviled status on the planet, one that effectively ends any chance you have of living a normal life.

Yet, I’m not the monster you think me to be. I’ve never touched a child sexually in my life and never will, nor do I use child pornography.
But isn’t that the definition of a pedophile, you may ask, someone who molests kids? Not really. Although “pedophile” and “child molester” have often been used interchangeably in the media, and there is some overlap, at base, a pedophile is someone who’s sexually attracted to children. That’s it.

There’s no inherent reason he must act on those desires with real children. Some pedophiles certainly do, but many of us don’t. Because the powerful taboo keeps us in hiding, it’s impossible to know how many non-offending pedophiles are out there, but signs indicate there are a lot of us, and too often we suffer in silence. That’s why I decided to speak up."
See how easy that was for Todd to explain away his sexual desires for children. Pedophiles are normal, just like you and me. Only a few do bad things (criminal things). "We need to get people to accept child love as normal and create a safe culture in the United States where pedophiles feel 'safe' to dialogue about what it feels to live in an oppressive culture we are in" is their stated mission. The only thing that keeps child sex illegal is the "powerful taboo" that keeps pedophiles in hiding. Just get culture comfortable with the thought of our identity (eg, "God made us that way"), then eventually the courts will change the laws to make legal acting out on our desires. We just need others to be more tolerant of us.

Sound familiar?

The proverbial boiling frog in hot water tells us that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water, which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. This is a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of American people to react to or be aware of cultural threats to Western Civilization that arise gradually rather than suddenly.

Celebrating identity is the first step toward accepting behaviors once thought illicit by culture and declared illegal by courts.

But when people fall into the trap of "that's just the way God created me," then what follows are concerted attempts by the immoral to get a culture to "accept me" and "promote me" so that my behavior - once deemed illegal - is now not only legal but celebrated.

NAMBLA wishes to make it a cultural norm, a legal act in the United States, to have sex with children. And we, the American people, have forgotten our heritage in Western Civilization. Our nation was built on the understanding that God sets the standard of mankind's morality, not culture.

God tells us that all adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia, and other sexual activities outside the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman, are immoral. "Flee sexual immorality" is His command. Culture may tell you to embrace immorality, but we must appreciate people who love us enough to risk our anger and hate to tell us the truth.

Allison Nunley's Facebook Post
Let me introduce you to Allison Nunley, a young person in Yukon, Oklahoma, who lived a homosexual lifestyle for many years until she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and decided to live according to God's will for her life.

Allison will talk with you about her sins, as I would talk to you about my own sins. Our sinful desires do not always totally disappear. But what Allison knows, as do I, is that to call something "good" in my life that God calls "sin" is to live a life of rebellion to my Creator.

The story of Allison's life through her Facebook post has been shared nearly 45,000 times. Most of the shares were from people who cursed her, shamed her, and called her every ungodly name imaginable.

But Allison Nunley persists in telling her powerful story of grace and repentance. Here it is:
__________________________________________________________________________

"I (Allison Nunley) lived a homosexual lifestyle for several years.

I attended pride parades. I said things like, “I was born this way,” “God is love,” “He knows my heart.” and “Who are you to judge?”

I wore men’s clothing.
I smoked pot daily.
I drank without care of getting drunk.
I lusted.
I stole.
I lied.
Etc, etc., etc.…

All while believing there was a God, though, I acted as if I were my own God.

I was prideful.
I was angry.
I was selfish.
I was greedy.
I was deceived.
I was lost.
I was without hope.
I needed a Savior…

Over 5 years ago, God broke me for my good and for His glory. The Holy Spirit poked and prodded my conscience and used 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 to finally convict me of my sins. He would then grab ahold of me, and there was no running from Him anymore. I loved my sins and would’ve never chosen Him…but He chose me (John 15:16). He brought me to my knees, a night that I will never forget.

He opened my eyes to my sinfulness, revealed Jesus to me, the meaning of the cross…as if I were looking at myself through Him.

That should’ve been my blood shed.

I deserved the wrath He took on my behalf. THAT IS what LOVE is (Romans 5:8)."

____________________________________________________________________________________________

I love immoral people, just like God loves me, an immoral person. My sins may be different than yours, but when it is pointed out that God doesn't like my anger, or my pride, or my selfishness, and so on, I do my best not to attack the messenger but to agree that there is sin in my life, confess it, and seek forgiveness.

It doesn't mean that I won't sin again in the same manner. It just means I understand the definition of sin. There seems disagreement or apathy in our culture about sexual sins. People throughout American history, the Founding Fathers, and most of all, the Bible seem to agree. Look to God for your standard of morality, not culture.

You may ask, "What does homosexuality or lesbianism have to do with a post about NAMBLA?"

Reread this post, and I think you will begin to understand.

CHRISTIANE,

Another war story.
Toward the end of the war, a lot of Germans surrendered to Americans.

Dad saw an old German limping along, and stopped the jeep. The jeep’s backseat was full of stuff. He told Jack: “He looks hurt, he can have my seat; it’s only 3 miles to where the Army is holding them, and I’ll walk.”

Somehow Jack got turned around and was driving toward the German army which upset the old German. He couldn’t speak English, but kept pointing and saying Germans! Jack drove into the German army. They were going to shoot him, but the old German had seen the cross on Dad’s helmet and explained that Jack was a chaplain’s assistant. They put Jack with five wounded Americans, and several days later left them.

Dad stayed uncurious for a week before he died in a VA hospital in Bonham, Texas. One day during that time, Jack joined us standing around his bedside.

I wished we’d sung Dad’s favorite song:

Life’s evening sun is sinking low.
A few more days and I must go.
To meet the deed that I have done.
Where there will be no setting sun.

I find the transition in culture very concerning.

As a culture, we keep throwing our children under the bus. We did that with COVID, destroying their hopes, dreams, lives when as children they were/are at minimal risk, and now we are doing it with this odd sexuality obsession.

How is it that the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" is sexist, a celebration of "rape culture" but then the song WAP is a celebrated top 10 song? Children know about that song, are singing that song. As a part of popular culture, it becomes very difficult for parents to protect against that....yet when children sing it, what that song portrays becomes acceptable. When children sing it, it becomes a part of their thinking process.

Trying to understand this push for transgender rights, I recently read the book "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters" by Abigail Shrier. I could write paragraphs about it, but I am very thankful that I grew up when I did, because I could see myself as a girl that might have seduced by that movement when I was going through the horribly awkward and painful time of puberty.

In this push for transgender rights, states are enacting strange laws that people can use facilities of their preference for the day and it is having the expected disruption for the majority. I could write "unintended consequences here" but the consequences are very predictable in my mind so they feel intended.

There is a video floating around of an angry woman at a SF spa -- a biological man was walking around naked on the female side and the spa could to nothing because he was identifying as a woman. In Idaho a "transgender" teen dressed for "his" identity at an aquatic center. Yes, there was a female walking around a family pool center topless. THIS is sexualizing our society and culture. This odd push to inject transgender rights into everything is injecting what should be private, what should be covered into what should be safe zones. Yesterday, I think I awkwardly criticized the teaching of sex to young children....I was not referring to the parental teaching, I was referring to schools teaching young children sex (asking children if they are gay, trans, queer etc when they are too young to be understanding the concepts. Yes, I understand that good parents now have to teach at an age when they shouldn't to "control the narrative."). However, when we allow this push for unusual sexual rights, when we have gay pride parades where we are celebrating something that should be private and have people walking around not fully clothed, when we push a transgender agenda and allow people of the opposite sex to parade around nude on "the other side" in facilities that were segregated by sex for a reason....THIS injects sex into areas that used to be protected and safe.

I am continually writing about COVID....but I think that COVID with the governmental control that we just accepted because of fear, closing our churches, destroying our very societal make up, turning people to trust The Science rather than our God has hastened us down a road that we should not have taken.

Celeste,

I continued to be moved by your comments and writing. Your journey to understand what is going on in culture, government, churches, and society, in general, is prescient. It's particularly remarkable to read because I feel as if you would have not thought like this a couple of years ago.

All that said, I would encourage you to always keep in mind one truth.

"The LORD is in charge, and destruction of a city, nation, or world, is always - in the end - for HIS glory and the good of HIS people."

I think like you BUT I am excited about the future. I am only trying to get people to think about their lives in terms of eternity. "Repent, or you will all will perish" are the words of our MASTER.

Repentance, grace, and love all seem to be missing right now, but the LORD has a way of taking away material blessings to create spiritual ones.

Christiane,

My heart is also moved by the deaths of those two kids uncovered at the apartment complex.

What an awful tragedy.

Scott,

"Wheat and Tares"? Yep. My thoughts too.

It's amazing 15 years ago everyone in the SBC thought I was a "liberal, Bible-denying Christian" because I believe leadership was based on gifting, not gender, and that my "support of women" leads to support of homosexuality.

Some of my pastor friends are strangely quiet these days. :)

Blessings, Scott.

Scott Shaver said...

Yes Wade, same with some of my pastor friends who have haven't retired yet. I spent my entire 20 year year tenure under the "liberal" label for my "egalitarian" views.

And early on, 85-89, you and I were probably on opposite sides of the CR fence line.

We've seen a lot in 20 or 30 years. Much of it disappointing as far as the denomination goes.
