Church Elders Who Rule Are Leaders Who Fool

In a church, if a group of elders presumes to "rule over" God's people in the sense they command others to obey their word and "submit" to their authority as God's anointed, then those elders display a superiority to Christ, who alone rules over His church. Even if elders deny such a presumptious attitude, the fact that elders believe the church should  "submit" to their word and will reveals their true feelings.

Nobody should rule over God's people but Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Teacher (kathegetis), even Christ; and all ye are brethren" (Matthew 23:8). He went on to declare, "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven" (Matthew 23:9).

Christianity is not a command leadership corporation. Christianity is a "serve one another" ministry.

The true church is the living body (organism) of Jesus Christ, not an institution of this world. For this reason, institutional church leaders who rule over people decapitate the true Head of the church.
